State Rep. Jerry Neyer, chair of the House Committee on Agriculture, yesterday joined U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, Congressman Tom Barrett, and agriculture leaders at Michigan State University’s Dairy Cattle Teaching and Research Center for a roundtable discussion and press conference focused on the future of agriculture in Michigan and across the country.

During her visit, Rollins announced the availability of over $275 million in grant funding for the specialty crop industry, providing additional support for farmers growing fruits, vegetables, and other high-value crops across the state.

“Michigan is a national leader in specialty crop production, and our farmers play a critical role in feeding the country and supporting local economies,” said Neyer (R-Shepherd). “These investments will help drive innovation, improve efficiency, and ensure our producers have the tools they need to stay competitive. I appreciate the opportunity to bring Michigan’s voice to the table and thank Congressman Barrett for helping make this important conversation possible.”
